Silver inlaid brass Mamluk Incense Burner

An incense burner made of brass inlaid and engraved with silver, inspired by the Mamluk era of Sultan Al-Shahid Qonsuah al-Ghuri. It consists of a base with three legs, a dome, and an arm, with a censer inside.

The Legs:
The legs are decorated with motifs of coiled dragons and a band featuring a dragon facing another.

The Body:
The body features six circles at the bottom. Three of them contain a winged eagle surrounded by leaf motifs. The eagle’s neck is tied with the head of a dragon. The other circles are adorned with winged creatures and geometric patterns resembling the letter “Z.”

The Arm:
The arm holds the sixth, separate circle, and is decorated with winged beasts.

The Dome:
The dome is made up of six spiraling circles. Three of them feature an eagle with its neck tied to the head of a dragon, while the other three contain winged creatures. The top of the dome is decorated with a geometric band and small windows for smoke to escape.

The Censer:
In the center of the censer, there is a circle with geometric shapes surrounded by the Sultan’s titles. Around the exterior, there are winged birds, and above them, there are predatory birds.
